NEZIRI IS A NEW MEMBER OF GI NETWORK OF EXPERTS

The president of the BIRC Institute, Xhelal Neziri, is the newest member of the expert network of the international organization Global Initiative (GI) based in Geneva, Switzerland and Vienna, Austria.

Neziri has a long experience in the field of investigative and analytical journalism, and recently he is finishing his PhD studies in political science.

The 600+ members of the GI network include prominent law enforcement, governance and development practitioners who are committed to seeking new and innovative strategies and responses to organized crime.

The Global Initiative was born out of a series of high-level, informal discussions between law enforcement officials primarily (though not exclusively) from developed and developing countries in New York in 2011.

The result was the creation of the Global Initiative against Transnational Organized Crime (GI-TOC), which provides a platform for promoting greater debate and innovative approaches, which serve as building blocks for a comprehensive global strategy against organized crime.
